Monetize the Content You’re Already Creating

A new feature alert from Squarespace generated in me some ideas about how to monetize the content you’re already creating!

This I know: you’re an expert in your field. You might not be the premier expert of whatever field that may be, but you have most certainly acquired the necessary skills and experience for running a successful business within a competitive industry. So, you have value to bring, no doubt!

If you’re reading this email, you’re likely already sharing useful content—what if you could get paid for it?

Below are a couple of strategies for capitalizing on the work you already do to bring in some additional revenue.

Instagram Subscriptions

You might have heard about Instagram Subscriptions. This is a relatively new feature available to Creator accounts with >10k followers. From Meta—“With Instagram subscriptions, subscribers pay a monthly fee to see exclusive content highlighted with a unique purple ring. They also get a subscriber badge next to their name so they can stand out in the comments and DM’s.”

TL;DR you can use Instagram Subscriptions to charge $5 a month from your most engaged followers. One of our clients (shoutout to JAW Media) just launched The Weekly Bite, a paid text subscription for weekly social media tips and resources. Genius!

Add paywalls to Blogs,

Squarespace just announced the option to add paywalls to Blogs, which means you can charge a monthly or one-time fee for their consumption (similar to Substack). To entice new audience members, you can allow some posts to be ‘previewed’ for free.

TL;DR you can now charge for blog content through Squarespace. Want help setting this up? Hit reply and we’ll be happy to!

In summary, making more doesn’t always mean working more! Sometimes you’re already doing the thing and now just need to position it to work for you!
