What’s Inspiring Us This Month — December

Muted color palettes, natural textures, holiday greenery, and a few more things.

Welcome to December—it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

We hope everyone out there enjoyed a safe, restful, and joy-filled long Thanksgiving weekend.

Each month we’ll include a few random things our team is loving, just for fun. This is Maddie's current list:

*Nothing on this list is sponsored, though we can dream. ;)

Maddie's Current Favorites:

The Lazy Genius Kitchen by Kendra Adachi

It’s not a cookbook, but rather a super generous and practical guidebook to making the hardest working room in your house also a delight to you! Especially in the thick of the holiday season, it feels like kitchen work never stops, and I’m finding Kendra’s advice to be a great lifeline for keeping me afloat—there’s a whole double spread devoted to hosting and/or contributing to Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, by the way! Plus, it’s inspiring me toward some great, achievable new year’s goals regarding kitchen organization and repeatable systems to make life easier. So, in that vein, this book might also make a perfect gift for somebody who’s moving soon, has recently moved, or who is simply entering any new season of life that might require some extra kitchen attention!

This Spotify playlist titled, “My Life is a Movie”

Per my last point, I’m in the grocery store and running other errands a lot right now. This playlist is the perfect background noise for feeling productive and staying focused while out and about, but also enjoying yourself and having a little main character moment as you accomplish all the things.

Notion management platform

At Sela Vie, we use Notion to manage all of our client projects and business operations, and it’s great. But in addition to that, under my account’s little private tab, I’m also running a holiday to-do list, a grocery list, a Christmas card address spreadsheet, gift brainstorming notes, etc. You can laugh—I know it’s neurotic, but in large part, thanks to Notion, I’m feeling decently sane right now. ;) For my fellow over-organizers, personal Notion accounts are free!

This recipe for chocolate chip pumpkin bread

This is my go-to little Christmas happy for all of our neighbors. The secret ingredient that makes it so amazing? Sour cream! Who knew.

Plus, a few more notable updates since we last talked—

Anna Cate’s officially back from maternity leave and, with her, return free 30-minute Discovery Calls to our project booking process! Also, Sydney’s taking her finals this coming week and will soon be a graduate of Samford University—congratulations to her!

As you jump into a month of celebration and look ahead of the conclusion of 2022, we wish you opportunities to savor time with friends and family, love on yourself a bit in the midst of holiday chaos, and find moments for meaningful rest.

Thanks for being here, friends. Enjoy your December!
