Just for fun…
I’m actually about to start a massive renovation on my home, so I thought it would be fun to share with y’all the behind the scenes of designing my house!
I’ve taken this project on myself instead of hiring someone to design it for me, mostly as a creative exercise (and maybe also because I’m too picky to fully trust anyone to do it for me). Most of the time I feel way in over my head, but 1) I love a challenge and 2) I love to learn new things.
So here’s the inspo for the house —
Through all my searching to find my own interiors style, I’ve found I’m drawn to these themes —
old world European
funky art and lighting
warm stone elements
rich, warm textures
lots of trim details
I’m keeping everything organized in Notion (duh), which has been very helpful to house all my selections, inspiration, budget, etc. in one place.
We’re completely moving out (furniture and all), and we’re hopeful it will be completed in about 9 months.
So much to learn, so much to do!
